MTV Roadies 7 Sans Raghu Ram ?
For six years, Raghu Ram has endeared himself to the audiences with his rude and humiliating comments on MTV's reality adventure series 'Roadies', but it appears that the brain behind the show, might no longer be a part of its forthcoming season.
'Raghu has been with the show for many years. People know the kind of reactions to expect from him but this time he is not really a part of the show. In fact, having said that, we haven't yet revealed who will be interviewing the contestants. There's a huge surprise lying there... So you never know. It will blow your mind,' MTV general manager Ashish Patil told IANS at the launch of the seventh season of the show here Saturday.
The event featured host Rannvijay Singh, VJ Bani, creative director Vivek Bhushan alias Bumpy and Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan - but not Raghu.
Asked about his absence from the event, as well as from the promotional clips of the show, Patil said: 'Raghu isn't really a part of the show this time. With every season, we try and do something different and surprise the audience, so this is just a part of it'.
Till now, Raghu was known to be the creator of the show and so an integral part of it as well. In the last season, he had joined hands with his identical twin brother Rajiv Laxman to give double trouble to contestants, but had gradually chosen to reduce his presence on the show.
However, it seems now, that he has completely withdrawn from it.
But then, this should not come as a surprise as Raghu had hinted during the sixth season that he might no longer be at the helm of affairs.
Said Patil: 'There was one season where we had Gulshan Grover as the bad man, then we had Raghu Ram introduced in the interview rounds, then Raghu and Rajiv. So its just that now we are going to come up with something different and unpredictable.'
Entering its seventh year, 'Roadies' has not only proved to be one of the most popular annually-held shows on Indian television, but also the longest running reality show. This time, the 'Roadies' journey will kick start from the barren lands of Bhuj in Gujarat and will continue to Egypt, Kenya and Tanzania in Africa.
The show will be at its 'deadliest and wildest ever' as hopeful contestants will have to pass through a seven round audition process, which will begin online through www.mtvindia.com/roadies.
Irrfan Khan will be seen as a menace to contestants as he will throw open seven twists based on the seven sins - lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy and pride - during the show.
'I'm going to be there to spoil their lives,' he said.
The show will go on air in September.

How do I register for MTV Hero Honda Roadies 7?
If your nationality is Indian and you are 18 years of age, there are three ways to register:
1. You can SMS ROADIES to 56882. Charges will be upto Rs. 3/sms. You will receive a password via SMS. You need to login using your mobile number & password to complete your profile.
2. Or you can click on this Register page enter your name, email & phone number. You will be redirected to the Login page. Wait for the password which you will receive as an SMS within 30 minutes. Login using those details.
3. You can login with your Facebook account by clicking a button which looks like this facebook button. Once you login, you will be re-directed to a page which will ask you to verify your mobile number. Once you enter your phone number, you will be sent a password with which you can login to complete your profile.
OK, I got my password and logged in. Now what?
You will see a page asking you for your basic details. Please enter correct information, especially your contact details. We need a way to let you know if you have been shortlisted, right? Also the stuff you write in 'About You' box will be visible to the whole world. You will also be asked to upload a photograph.
Why do y'all need my photograph?
Since the shortlisting for the Group Discussions & Personal Interviews will happen based on the forms you filled online, we need to see what we are getting! Also please avoid uploading photos in which you are wearing sunglasses, hats / caps, scarves, masks, spectacles etc. - anything which covers your face. Maximum file size is 2MB. Please upload only files with the extensions .JPG and .GIF.
OK, I filled in my basic details. Now what?
Great! Now that we know what you look like, we need to see your personality too. You now have to answer 10 subjective questions. Once you are done, read your answers carefully. If you are happy with your answers, click on CONFIRM. But remember, once you confirm your answers you CANNOT change them again. If you want to change your answers, click on the BACK button.
OK, answers confirmed & submitted. Then what?
Cool. Your profile has been sent to the MTV team for review. If you have been shortlisted for the Group Discussions & Personal Interview round, you will be contacted via phone and/or email by the MTV team. As a big thank you for registering, you will also receive an SMS and email from Fastrack giving you a Rs. 500 voucher which you can redeem on their cool merchandise across all their stores.
Thanks. Now what can I do to increase my chances of getting shortlisted?
You could shoot a one minute video telling us why we should pick you. This would help us get to know you better. Avoid using abusive language & background music in your video. Well, if you haven't already connected your Facebook account to your profile, do so now. Apart from being able to share your profile and videos with your friends easily, it will also give us an opportunity to get to know you better. However, do check the privacy settings of your account so that your profile is visible to us.
OK, I have completed my profile, sent in the video and connected my Facebook account to my profile. Does this mean I am shortlisted for the Group Discussions?
Unfortunately, no. The MTV team will shortlist the candidates for the Group Discussion based on the online entries received. If you have been shortlisted, you will get a call and/or email from someone in the MTV team.
Yay! I got a call for the Group Discussions! Now what do I do?
Good. Now you need to login with your mobile number & password you received earlier and print out your audition form. Along with your profile, you will also get a print out of a Consent Form. You need to sign on this document in the space provided and carry it with you to the auditions. Also carry along your photograph and an original or copy of age proof (Driving license, voters identity card, school leaving certificate, birth certificate, ration card or passport) to the Group Discussion venue.
What if I am selected as a Roadie for MTV Hero Honda Roadies 7?
If you want to appear on the show, you will have to enter into a Talent Management / Participant Agreement with Viacom18 Media Pvt. Ltd.

How is season 7 of MTV Hero Honda Roadies different from previous ones?
For starters, the audition process has shifted online. The candidates for Group Discussions will be shortlisted based on the online entries and they will be called to the venues separately. Also, we are going to Africa. A-F-R-I-C-A! Not to forget Irrfan Khan who is going to bring a new dimension to season 7 where he will be the one introducing the 7 deadly twists in the show. And this time Rannvijay will actually RIDE with the final Roadies! Satisfied?
